Scams and other nasties

The bigpond address i have for the library is constantly filled with trash of a nasty nature. There are the Nigerian scams, you have won the lottery scams, I have diamonds. They are annoying and just really, really stupid.

I dont understand how someone can sit at home and write software that attacks other people and think that it is a worthwhile hobby?

The trick is to have your software up to date with all the ANTI things you can but this is a time consuming activity!

I have had a look at Sportkin - I like it!

If you had just moved to a town and were looking for clubs for the kids or yourself this would be brilliant. If you are a club and you want to promote yourself the ability is there.

Instant Messaging

I have been using the instant messanger on Face book for ages, I have also previously used MSN. my inlaws live in Scotland but we havent bothered with Skype, my MIL doesnt go near the computer so it would be a waste of time really. I spend enough time in front of the computer at work so I like relaxing on the lounge with the phone!! Old fashioned I guess.

Google Docs

I also use the Google Docs to share things between friends and other Scout leaders. they are brilliant for when you cant find or dont have your memory stick with you. accessable anyhwere, dont corrupt and a fantastic way to work on porjects at different locations.

Event management

I se google calendar all the time at home. It allows my husband, my babysitter and now my daughter see what is happening very easily. I change it and they all know about it - supposedly.....

RSS feed rinsers

If I used the RSS facility then these would be useful tools. I dont however so they arent really that important to me.

Slideshows

How lucky that I have jsut recently put together a slide show of my library! When it uploads properly I will ahve a look at it and maybe do some alterations. I love playing with Windows Movie maker at home and use the software with my camera to manipulate and send images all the time so this was familar ground for myself. Yeah!
